I taught 6th grade for 2 years, 3rd grade for 5 years, and kindergarten as a long term substitute, but I have worked around children my entire life, be it as a summer camp counselor or as a teacher at the YMCA.

Personally, I am someone who has just a few things that I am very passionate about. I recently got married to the love of my life, Amy, in September of 2022. We have been together for 7 years, and have two dogs, Ellie and Dale, that we are absolutely obsessed with.

I have never had the mindset that I should never share details of my personal life with my students. In fact, I feel it makes me more approachable and seem more like a real person. I frequently try to incorporate my interests in hiking, music (I have played the drums and saxophone for 17 and 21 years respectively) and exercise into classroom activities and lessons. I think that the more my students see me as a real person, the more I can connect with them as people.

My Pups!

My wife and I are a bit obsessed with our puppies. Dale (above) is a pitbull- german shepherd mix, and Ellie (below) is a pitbull-french bulldog mix. They have become my unofficial class mascots.
